HAIR
Mesotherapy is a widely used non invasive technique in which enzymes, vitamins, plant extracts and other essential ingredients are injected into the skin to lighten pigmentation, erase fine lines and wrinkles and tighten skin. But did you know Mesotherapy is also an effective treatment to address Hair concerns?
Dermatologist around the world have been using this procedure for years to:
-
Arrest Hair Fall
-
Nourish Hair
-
Restore hair volume
What Is The Procedure Like?
Also called Mesohair or Mesoplasty, Mesotherapy for hair is a very simple procedure which can be performed in two ways.
1. Injecting Growth Inducing Concoction
At Dr. Rakhavi Midhun Skin and Hair Solutions, Dr. Rakhavi Midhun examines the hair concerns and nutritional or hormonal imbalance reports of a patient. Post examination, a tailor made concoction of growth inducing enzymes, ingredients and vitamins is prepared which is then injected into the patient’s scalp.
The concoction helps:
-
promote hair growth
-
improve blood circulation in the scalp
-
neutralise excess of Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) which is an androgen responsible for male pattern hair loss
-
stimulate collagen production to prevent hair loss
-
reduce inflammation, if any.
2. Mechanical Mesotherapy
Another way to accelerate hair growth is to create micro perforations in the areas of the scalp with scanty hair. These micro injuries stimulate production of collagen which in turn helps reduce hair fall.
Whichever method is chosen for your Mesohair session, the following steps are followed at our clinic:
Step 01: Dr. Rakhavi Midhun examines your concern.
Step 02: Depending on the extent of hair loss and the need for scalp hygiene, either Chemical or Mechanical Mesotherapy is chosen.
Step 03: Post this, if the patient’s pain threshold is low then a numbing cream is applied in the area which will be injected
Step 04: Dr. Rakhavi Midhun injects the growth inducing concoction into the patient’s scalp
Step 05: Post session, Dr. Rakhavi Midhun recommends certain post treatment care.
There are usually multiple sittings which are needed. On an average, most patients require about 4 months of therapy with weekly sessions. Each session lasts up to 30 minutes. One may experience minor bruises or the scalp might appear red or swollen for some. These usually fade away within a few days of the session.
It is also important to note that the results are seen after the body starts being receptive of the enzymes, vitamins and other ingredients that are injected into the scalp. Hence, one is advised to be patient throughout the process.
Is Mesotherapy For Everyone?
Even though Mesotherapy for hair has shown great results for many, the following people are advised to not opt for this procedure:
patients suffering from major medical ailments like cardiac concerns and diabetes
-
people who suffer from any skin diseases
-
pregnant women
-
lactating mothers
-
people who are allergic to one or more ingredients used in the procedure
Can Mesotherapy Be Combined With Other Hair Restoration Treatments?
The efficacy of any treatment depends on how a patient’s body is reacting to it. Generally, depending on the extent of hair loss and the cause of hair fall, Dermatologists decide the treatment or combination of treatments that would produce the desired results.
If Mesotherapy shows results then it is used as a primary treatment along with dietary supplements and recommendation to bring certain changes in lifestyle. If there is extreme hair loss then Mesotherapy is combined with treatments like PRP.
